I was wondering if any one had any suggestions on some new authors for me.  I like paranormal romance, leaning more towards shape-shifting.  But, I am open to other paranormal as well!  I like a strong female lead, and a little humor is always good. I haven’t found a good occult book since I read the Secret Circle by L.J. Smith, and would love any recommendations there too!

Some of my favorite authors are;

Laurell K. Hamilton – of course

Patricia Briggs – just found and love

L.J. Smith – My introduction to the paranormal – Any one have news on the last Night World book?  Last I heard she was fighting cancer and hasn’t been able to finish it.

Christine Feehan - (all except for the Dark series too much macho he-man. lol)

Shelly Laurenston – is in my tbr pile, but I like what I have read so far

Don’t really like J.R. Ward, or some of S. Kenyon, or Amanda Ashley.

I’ve read soo much but I never keep a list.  Any suggestions on a good way of doing it. I was thinking maybe Excel?

Thanks!

I would recommend Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld SEries...all have a strong female lead and it's probably one of my favorites of the genre.  PLEASE start at the beginning of the series however...finally talked my sister into reading it and she started w/ Broken!  I also liked Carrie Vaughn Kitty series and Keri Arthur Riley Jensen...

And these are all shapeshifter books.

Nalini Singh's Psy series is good, with a group of shapeshifters in them

I agree with pp...Armstrong's series is really great and I've only read the first one.  I think it's the best werewolf book I've ever read.

I'm so excited and shocked that my local library actually has part of the series! But if they are as good as you guys say, I will probably end up buying them.  ::Smacks head against wall:: I need a bigger book shelf.
