I really like Jennifer Apodaca's Samantha Shaw mysteries, and it doesn't look like there is another one due out anytime soon... so does anyone have any suggestions on any similar series?  I've done Evanovich, Stevi Mittman, and both the psychic dectective & ghost hunter series by Victoria Laurie.

Any suggestions for any other similar series/authors???

what are the samantha shaw ones like? funny? I've read evaonvich and victoria laurie's books and those are the best I've read I think. There are some other mysteries i like but not for the humor. I enjoyed the trailer park mysteries by jimmie ruth evans but I think you gotta know the south to fully aprpeciate them! I also like earlene fowler's benni harper series because of the quilt names but no one quilts in them! and there's an ongoing romance though not too descriptive and a dead hubby who just keeps being mentioned in every book even after she's with someone else that might get on your nerves but they're good stories I think. monica ferris' needlecraft series is good but again I read them for the needlecraft part mostly.

I've heard the chocoholic mysteries are good adn they're in my tbr pile along with the southern sisters by anne george..sorry  not much help 'cause I think evanovich and laurie are the best!

Thanks for the suggestions, I've done the Chocoholic books they were good.  The Samantha Shaw mysteries are very good IMO, some humor, romance and pretty good mysteries.  Unlike some cozies there is a continuing romance and a small amount of sex, not too explicit though.

I also really like the Victoria Laurie books, I see that Demons are a Girls Best Friend is due out in March of 08, but the next Abby Cooper book isn't due until September of 2010!!!   AAAAAARH they need to write faster LOL

I'll try the Trailer Park mysteries.  I live in FL and will definitely appreciate the southern humor.

2010?? gosh I thought one was due later this  year! I hate it when a good series takes so darn long to have the next book! I have the southern sisters in my tbr pile and I've heard they're good. I really liked the trailer park mysteries and so did my coworker though I don't recall them being hilarious-funny type but if you understand the south and a poor hardworking divorced mom trying ot make ends meet you can see the humor in a way!

Try Marianne Stillings books. Damsel in this Dress, Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evie, Sighs Matter and Arousing Suspicions.  Her books are funny, quirky and have great plots.
