I certainly learned more about the Ottoman Empire than I knew before but mysteries are always a "mystery" for me when all is said and done. I found this book a bit confusing but that is why I seldom read murder mysteries - I'm just not good at keeping all the characters straight, this book included. Others may find it less confusing.
A decent murder mystery and a fascinating portrait of the end of the Ottoman empire
Good mystery set in the late days of the Ottoman Empire. If you like historical fiction you will like this. Great detail in the descriptions of this lush life and it's nuances
I love travel via a books to places I will never have the pleasure of knowing and into times I will not ever live- This book does both- the characters are real and likeable.
A murder mystery which took place in the fascinating world of the Ottoman Empire. I really enjoyed it.
Interesting view of a culture in the past.
the book is good has many turns & twist and keeps changing to different character telling what is happing which i didn't care for and i thought it left a couple loose ends
"Intricate and subtle as a Turkish carpet, lush as silk upon the skin, The Sultan's Seal is a fascinating and remarkably knowledgeable look at a society in flux, with its very appealing characters caught between East and West, Islam and Christianity, and bound in a web of murder and treachery that only the lucky few may escape."-Diana Gabaldon
