At first, I thought this was another friendly beach read, but I couldn't be more wrong. Don't misunderstand me, this book is perfect for a beach read this summer! There is just so much more packed between the covers than I had anticipated.
Mina, Sam, Kendra and Isabel are four friends who grew up together. When Mina passes away from her fight with cancer, her best friend Sam is beyond distraught. When I first started this book I though I would really love it. It had the potential to be really great, the characters were good, storyline good, it was funny, different. But then it just kind of dropped off, like the author was in a hurry to just finish up. There was so much work and detail in explaining all of the "meet me on the other side" theory and then when it actually happened, it was a little confusing and not very satisfying. It's too bad because the characters were funny, the writing style was great, etc., just left you a little unsatisfied at the end, I thought.
