Very good read even though this book stands out as
different from any other Patterson book I've read.

I bought this book at an airport for a short plane trip. I have read Patterson before and enjoyed him and this seemed like a nice departure. Alas, I was mistaken.
Thin Plot. Horribly flat characters. No good back story, no why, how, what, when?
He drops you into a fantasy, doesn't explain it, and jerks you out.
