A really fast, easy read. Likeable characters, but some of the secondary characters promise a more interesting story sometime in the future. You don't HAVE to read the three previous stories in this ongoing series, but it helps to know & understand the storyline & the various characters.
While this was a pleasant read, I feel the author wrote it in her sleep.

I started with the 3rd Lords of Vice book, and jumped to the 1st and 2nd from there. The 1st was less than a great story for me, the 2nd a little better. Curious about the characters, though, I've continued the series. I adored this book. I felt it was Alexandra's best of the series yet. It's left it wide open for development of the series and gave me that "oohh, what happens next??" feel. So much so that I read it in 2 days and stayed up late to finish it. I do recommend starting with earlier series. I think I enjoyed the story more because I knew the characters well by this point.
