I received a book in the mail and I won't re-post it but I'm not sure if I should mark it as RWAP. I think it is very borderline, the edges of the book are stained (yellowish so maybe just age) but the back cover has been taped together where there is approximately a 3 inch tear.

I did read all of the posting conditions before posting here, I really looking for opinions.

Thanks in advance.

A 3" tear warrants a RWAP.  Tape doesn't make it postable.

Is it a tear in a dustjacket on a hardcover or a tear on a paperback cover?  Dustjackets aren't required.

It is a tear on a paperback cover.

What Kath said.  Although it can help slow down wear and prolong swapability, tape cannot return a book to postable condition.  If the book would be unpostable if you removed the tape, it's unpostable.   And the swapability guidelines say 1 1/2 inch is the maximum for a tear or cut to the bookcover.

Thanks Gals, pretty much what I thought. This is a first for me and I kinda hate doing it but maybe the sender just didn't realize it was there.
