A few weeks ago I ordered a 4/1 deal in the bazaar...Today  I received the package. It only had 3 books in it ( but thats okay , I'm fine with that. I have plenty to read)

The Problem is , I also received someone else's package too. Its from that same person that I ordered the deal from.  Its not the regular address thing that you print from PBS  , it looks like it was made.  anyway , its got someone elses name with my address.

Should I return to sender or what..? maybe I could ask the gal who did the deal for the other persons address and send it /

PM the sender and let them know about both mistakes. They may have got more than just those two packages mixed up and will need to know what happened.

It's up to the sender to arrange for you to send the books on. You can if you want and don't mind spending the money, but you're certainly entitled to being reimbursed for postage and can ask for it. Either way, you'll need the next person's name, and the sender will have that.

They'll need to let the other person know that the books went to the wrong place, what they're doing to get the books to them, and that they may arrive late.

But they also should figure out what happened to your fourth book and make that good for you as well. So definitely PM the sender and let them know what's happened.

Hi Catherine ,

Thanks for your advice as well. I've never had that happen before. didnt know what to do.  If I send it to the person it belongs to ,it would be okay to ask for a credit from the person who offered the deal...?

The Help Center has a document titled, "I sent a book to the wrong person!" which covers this issue (though from the opposite perspective).  Certainly if you send the book to someone else, you should be paid or given a credit to cover the postage.

Yes, just PM them an explain that you will be happy to forward on the package to the right person, if they would buddy you a credit, to cover the postage cost.

Not only is it OK to ask for a credit, this situation is covered in the PBS rules and that is the recommended way of handling it.

hmm, wondering what books -  I also had a deal going-  3 for 1 and only got 1,  member apologized and said she must have sent them to someone else by mistake.   She returned my credit without me asking for it.  Wondering if they are "my" books...

That happened to me recently.  I ordered a book and the sender sent it to the wrong address.  He buddied the other person the credit and they mailed the book to me.

I did that once.  The first person let me know and I sent her a credit to send it on, which she did, but I think the other book got lost.  Pat

It sure sounds like some crazy things in the threads lately. One thread in particular is so scary; it makes you remember that all walks of life are using PBS. We have to trust the system to sort everyone out over time. And not every deal will come off perfectly. I will try to remember to be patient when it happens to me.
