I liked Outlaw and ordered two more.  Blaze and something else I forget the title of atm.  She's new to me though, so I'm no authority.

I have most of Johnson's on my keeper shelf. I like her stories and you can always count on her for very sexy sex scenes.

I read Hot Spot and liked that one. I didn't care for Sinful.  It was too remeniscent of Bertrice Small (not a fan) with the hero/heroine ending up as sex slaves in some Desert country.  I have some others in the TBR mountain and eventually I will get to them.  I have Wine Tarts & Sex.  I just have too many books! I'll never read them all.

Eww, not a fan of that type of book. I just ordered some of hers, hope I won't be disappointed.

well, hunh.  i went looking to see if Susan Johnson was the same person who wrote a book i picked up (Hot Spot), and it is.  but i also noticed that the reviews for Hot Spot on amazon are pretty consistently bad.  it's outside my usual genres, but it kind of looked like fun when i noticed in on the FOL shelf.

i see mrslefty liked it - anyone else have an opinion on Hot Spot?

(i have not read this author before.)

I just tried Wicked and did not care for it At. All.  It gave me a new definition for "Erotic Romance": people do naughty things to each other with odd implements for most of the book, then at the very end they suddenly love each other.

I would rather skip the erotic and actually get some romance.

Ah poo.  I may have to rethink getting some of her books.  I've tried to get the ones that reviewed consistently well at AAR.

I just ordered Outlaw from the swap to give a try. It'll be the first Susan Johnson I try.

I like a good steamy/sensusal book but I like there has to be relationship development between the h/h. I agree that erotic books tend to be lacking in that department. But if anyone knows some good ones I'm always up for suggestions!

Probably too late but I would recommend BRAZEN for newbies. It's probably her most tender historical which is not saying much since Johnson did start publishing in the late 70s and was part of the bodice ripper crowd

I enjoyed Outlaw very much and ordered the sequel, To Please A Lady, which has an A- rating and desert isle keeper status on AAR.   It seems to me like her reviews vary widely.  She has some outstanding ones and some really bad ones as well, so I'd be selective.

I wouldn't say Hot Spot was the best book I ever read. But it wasn't bad. I didn't feel like I wasted  my time reading it or like I wanted to burn it when I was done. (like The Rebel Bride by Catherine Coulter).

Oh man, that was a nasty one. I sometimes enjoy books that other people think are really creepy and awful, but that sure was not one of them.
