THIS IS A Texas Christian University Publisher book. A recent title and still very popular and unique to this area.
This is wonderful color pictoral art book of Fort Worth. Artist Sweetie Ladd presents 38 of her paintings of historic structures in Fort Worth, Texas. The artist grew up in Fort Worth's cattle heyday, long after my own great, great, great grandfather (Fort Worth's First firechief and police chief around 1864) had contributed to the colorful political history of Fort Worth's earliest years, before its streets were quite paved. Sweetie Ladd provides pictures of buildings and sites that are long gone. You'll see the Nine-Mile-Casino, the T & P Station, the lobby of the Majestic Theater, the Lake Erie Interurban (trolley), the Ballard Ice-Cream Truck, the Scott Mansion, Mrs. Baird's Bread delivered in a horse drawn carriage, the Washer Brothers building and the Fuqua's Grocery, to name a few.
