Is there a reason that when I post a book to my TBR pile, it does not show up on my bookshelf?  Or is it supposed to show up, and I've done something wrong?  Thanks for your ideas and information...

Jackie,

Your TBR is your list of books you still need to read.  Your bookshelf is where you post books that are ready to be swapped.  When you post a book to your TBR it does not show up on your bookshelf since by doing so, you are saying you haven't read the book yet.

Hope this helps.

When I look at my shelf, I see books that are not posted for swapping, but they are on my shelf to be read.  The little circle with a slash through it tells me I have not posted the yet, but they are on the shelf, waiting.     When I post to the TBR  side, they don't show up at all.  ??????

Took me a few to figure what you are talking about. My bookshelf is sorted according to posted books. Your shelf is sorted to all books. When I sorted my shelf to all books, it shows my TBR books with a slashed circle around the green check, which means that this book is not currently posted in the system for swapping. Yours should be on your TBR list as well.

Jackie,

Those are books that your have received from PBS.  As a convenience you are allowed to have them added to your bookshelf on hold (yes/no question on the receiving survey).  But I am fairly certain you cannot access that feature manually and that the only way to do it is through receipt of a book.

One way to do it with TBR books is to put your Bookshelf on Vacation Hold, add your TBR books to your Bookshelf, put the TBR books on individual hold on your Bookshelf, then take the Vacation Hold off.
