Is the TBR option here unlimited? I'm still discovering new stuff here and added a few books to my TBR thingy and 4 of the titles came up at Wish List titles, books I didn't expect to be WLs. Anyhow, if the TBR section can hold a huge amount of titles I might start adding books as a mini book collection database.

i believe it is unlimited.  i've read posts from people who have over 1100 listed in theirs.

You should also check out the reminder list.  It will tell you how many copies of a book are in the system.  (The book page will tell you the number wishing but not the number posted as available.)  And below that are listed the books not available.

I believe there is a limit.   But someone mentioned having almost 500 books in their TBR list.  I think the original idea was the TBR would be books you have and the reminder are books you are thinking about getting.  There is an easy link to post books from the TBR.  There is also an easy link to convert books from the reminder list onto your wish list.

I thought I had read somewhere on here that once the "new" wishlist is implemented, the reminder list is going to go away.  Did I imagine that?

If there is a limit, I haven't found it. I have had mine close to 1300 before. I am down to 1146 right now. I have all my romance and paranormal in it, which is helpful in keeping me from ordering books I already have but forgot about!

They are supposedly going to combine the WL and RL into one list with the available books being on hold. I hope if they do this there is advance warning so I can tag some of my RL and delete most of  them.  Then I can just look up my tag.  I will probably never order most of those books but I keep the list incase I'm looking at someone's shelf who is offering a deal and if I go back to boxing.  They also need to be able to tell how many copies of a book are in the system without adding it to the RL.  That would be really handy for games where there's a copies posted limit.

I remember why I think there is a limit.  Because there is a limit at Swap A DVD.  They have only a wish list, no reminder list.  And it has a limit.  And PBS was talking of switching to that style of list.  Maybe the DVD site is a test run.

I'd love to be able to see the copies without posting to the reminder list.  I end up posting to both my bookshelf and the reminder list to see that number.  Maybe a window option like the footprint.

The new PBS WL/RL is supposed to be unlimited.  Which I think will make the wait times worse because now people have a limit and have think about which books to put on their WL.  With an unlimited on then everyone will just stick everything on their incase they want it, clogging up the lines and when it's offered they'll take their time deciding.

Hmmm, I wonder if they've already implemented the new (no limit) WL?  I accidentally posted a book twice yesterday and ended up with 201 WL books!  I corrected it, but today, PBS caught a book that "got lost in the mail" and posted it back in my WL - so now it's back to 201.  I'll go try to post another book and see what happens.

**Just tried and it wouldn't let me add another book.  Maybe there's some sort of glitch/whatever that allows it to go to 201 sometimes?

It'll let you go to 201 if you have a WL book go lost or marked RWP or cancelled after you've already filled the spot. I won't let you add another book until you go back down to 199.

My TBR is over 1800. (Not all actual books I own, mind you - I put every edition listed on my list, so I don't accidentally order one. Some authors, like Jude Deveraux, have about 14 editions per title.)

BTW, I wouldn't recommend using the TBR list for database purposes, because the sorting and searching functions are not at all reliable.

No the search thing isn't reliable on the TBR or the RL.  I searched by an author name yesterday and it only brought up one book. I knew I had several on my list.  I had the name spelled right and it was right in all the listings. But doing search only brought up 1 book when I had 7 on the list.  It can be handy when seeing if you have any books to fit the theme for a swap with a word list-you just can't sure that it won't miss one.
