This is a very sad story that never should have happened. David Brame never should have been hired as a policeman because of things in his past that the people who hired and promoted him knew about, but swept under the carpet because of "good old boy politics." The divorce was ugly on both sides. Too bad each injured side has to try to make the other person look as bad as possible. By doing so, when the divorce papers were made public it was a scandal that seemed to push David over the edge. Maybe divorce papers should not be a matter of public record, so some tabloid news reporter can't publish them. As always, the children are the ones who get hurt the most!
I liked this book. It was interesting to learn the history before the actual crime. It was even more interesting to get details on the interactions within the Tacoma Police Dept that came to light because of this crime.
Chief of police, David Brame had a secret. He abused his wife. Not only was it his secret but the department also chose to keep it a secret. This is a sad story of love, lies, and murder. I recommend "Tacoma" it's a real page turner.
