This is probably the best book on fighting with tanks in the African desert I have ever read. Cyril Joly served in the British 7th Armored Division in World War 2, fighting for two years with the Desert Rats against first the Italians and then Rommel's Afrika Korps. While this is a stunning work of fiction, every event in it actually happened according to the author. Incredibly realistic and many combat scenes. Death in armored vehicles is not clean as one might suspect. Great novel of action and adventure.
