Great stories from a great author! They will make a lot more sense if you read the series in order. Sydney is smart, brunette, and can't believe "Lucky" O'Donlon would go for a woman like her. She turns him down when she catches on that his seduction attempt is manipulative only to later become his one true love. If you've ever wanted to turn down the "captain of the football team" type, this one is for you!
Colleen has had a crush on Bobby, her brother's SEAL buddy, for a long time. When she finally gets him alone, she's very clear about her feelings and desires. Bobby doesn't stand a chance even though he feels like he's betraying his friend. Good action plot along with the love story.

This is a re-issue of "Get Lucky" and "Taylor's Temptation." With this series, I usually say you don't have to read them in order but I think by this book you should have read the other ones first. That way you can appreciate it when the other characters put in their cameos (and there are a lot of them). I can't imagine reading about them and not knowing who everyone is. It also helps you understand the significance of everyone's relationships. Also this review won't make sense to you unless you have read the other books.
These two stories are definitely the best in the series. I have yet to read the last one but I've read all the others. It was great to see Brockmann's abilities to tell a story improve so drastically throughout this series. It makes reading the bad ones worth it in a way.
Great things going on with both stories were the characters are more well-rounded and there were more humor in the stories. Things flowed well and there was enough dangerous elements thrown in to balance the stories. The stories were also more believable. One of the negatives (which is totally just my personal preference) is that Brockmann doesn't write out cuss words. She just tells you there are cuss words and you have to kind of insert your own. Seemed a little silly and it is such a minor thing.
I loved Sydney's character in "Get Lucky." I love how straight forward she was. It reminded me of Lucy, my favorite female character out of this series. Lucky has never been my favorite character but having Sydney by his side did make him more favorable in my eyes. Syd is definitely spunky and full of humor. I love the danger factor and of course I got to catch up with all the other character's lives.
Colleen was great as well. I adored how honest she was with Taylor. Odd that I liked her so much for her tenacity but I couldn't stand Nell even though they pretty much were doing the same thing (not giving up on their men). I guess Colleen didn't come off as pathetic because Taylor wasn't such a jerk to her. I also really love the scenes with Ashley's brother and Kenneth. Hilarious. I also wanted to know more about what happens to Ashley and her lawyer. Hope Brockmann revisits them in one of her other stories. It was one of those stories you wanted to get more from.
I can't wait to read the last one (Wes's story). I would highly recommend this one.
