Well, I say keep going because this is one of my favorite series (the Garnet Lacey series).    One of the things that I really like about it is that the author is a practicing wiccan / witch, and I think that adds a sense of realism to her stories.   I say just a touch - how realistic can a story be when vampires, zombies and goddesses are also involved LOL?

Not everyone is going to like every series.  Please don't feel pressured to like it because I do.

I recommend that you finish the first book and see what you think then.

I really like the series because of the wry sense of humor.  Definitely different.

I liked this series too, but I had my doubts at the beginning of the first one as well.  I wasn't sure I was going to like the main character, but I do.  It is a lighter read --more humorous like Emily said.

I won't put it will the funny fluffy books like Kathy Love or MJD.  It is a dark ironic humor.   A witch hiding out at a new age bookstore because no self respecting witch would go there?   On my keeper shelf.

I like the book too--have the series so far and I believe the new one is on its way to me! Yay!    I know I have a hard time picking up a lighter book after reading a dark heavy story.  Couldn't just start reading Real Vampires Live Large after finishing a JR Ward book ya know:lol:
