This book is one of the best I have read. It is an eye opener in terms of what life is like in Africa (prior to the genocide) and the horrible truth of being witness and victim to such unspeakable acts of inhumanity. The book is fascinating with a feeling of suspense as you know something horrible will be coming. The parts that are hard to read are just that....you can feel the loss, pain and anger in all of Halima's words. I couldn't put it down and I feel like a more educated person after finishing this book. I would recommend to anyone.
