I just received some books that have a pretty stong smoke odor. How can I get some of the smell out?

I don't have requestor conditions for smoky books, I don't mind too much but these are pretty strong smelling.

THanks in advance!

I bought a bunch of books at an auction - former owner must have been a chain smoker!

Placing them, individually (no stacking!) outside on my patio table and leaving them all day on a nice day helped a lot.

I've also heard (but haven't tried yet) that putting smoky books in a closed container with clay kitty litter will also help. Maybe a bit in a ziplock bag?

Put them in ziplocs along with crumpled newspaper and let them sit for a few days. It works as well as kitty litter and doesn't make a mess.

I've also heard that putting them in a large closed container with a cup of Fabreze can help.
