Does anyone have their teen provide input or write the review when they review a teen book?  I just read a bunch of reviews written today

and yesterday and several of them sounded like  teenage girls had written them.  Are there many teen members of PBS?

The youngest a member can be is 18.  But that doesn't mean there aren't much younger members here - it means that they just don't give an age or birthdate - or they lie about it.

Besides that, I also have little doubt that many members have the person who read the book (which, yes, could include a teenage family member or friend) write the review, since that'd make sense if they want to post a review for each book that goes through their account (which I know many do) but didn't read it themselves.

PBS members must be 18.  But far as I know teens can use a parents account (therefore supervised by the adult member) and could certainly write reviews.

There's at least one member who copies and pastes reviews from a teen website (Teens Read Too or something like that) but she does put this disclaimer on the reviews when she posts them.

If it's because of poor grammar or netspeak that you suspect there are teens using the site, well, there are people who are well into adulthood who aren't able to construct a sentence and write indecipherably on the Internet.  It's hard to say how old they are.

Britney,

I think the member you are thinking of is GeniusJen and she's the owner of Teens Read Too, so yes, she does post the reviews her staff writes for her website.  Some of those reviewers are teenagers, but generally they are fairly professionally written.

I completely agree with the statement that just poor writing/grammar/spelling can be either adult or teen reviewers.  You would be surprised how many poorly written PMs I get from adults.

I wasn't judging grammar or writing ability, but the vocab chosen and "valley-girl" like comments!

And was wondering if I should have my teenage daughter comment or review the books she reads rather

than have adult comment on books geared towards teens.  You'll see my Twilight series reviews were written

by me---LOL!

Thanks for the input.

By all means Jeanne, I'm sure your daughter would post great reviews!
