Have you read these books by Maddy Hunter? I ran across them at a bookstore yesterday and they looked fun. I didn't get "Alpine for You" because I find that I always come back here to find out what other mystery readers think. :) If you are familiar with this series, did/do you like it?

Hi LeeAnne ... I've read the first three ... they are funny, in a silly, slap-stick sorta way ....

The heroine is a little annoying in her total incompetance (IMHO) ... but I keep going back because the mysteries are pretty interesting, and I keep hoping the overblown characters will settle down ....

All in all ... I'd definitely recommend trying the first one, to see how you like the characters and style ....

Thanks, Karen! That's sort of what I expect of this sort of book and sometimes, that's exactly what I need. I think I'll give the first one a try. :)

I didn't  care for them. I made it through the first one and part way throug the second one before I was dying of boredom. Then I gave the other two away. Grandma was funny but the main character drove me nuts and I didn't think the plots were very good/not much or any suspense. But they are popular with a lot of people so obviously just not my cup of tea.

I've read the first two and thought they were pretty good....but you have to remember they are cozies.  I started on the third, found it a little boring at the start and set it aside for another day.  But, I will keep reading them.

I love them! The entire series is a keeper for me. I love the random slap stick comedy and the travelling. I've actually been to a few of the destinations in the books, so that really made it a little more exciting for me. Just typing this out is making me want to read them all again! :)

I really think they are alot of fun.  I enjoyed the laughs.  When I started I really needed a good laugh, just to get away from things, and these  were the ticket for me.  But what I like some people don't.  I know that allot of people like Janet Evanovich.  I am not a big fan of her mystries, but like her romance and her 1/2 mystries.  It is funny how different we all are but that's good.
