Much as I love Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre, this is the novel that made Anne my favorite Bronte. The novel tells the story of a woman trapped by marriage to an abusive, alcoholic husband. While dramatic, Tenant does not have all the overwrought emotions of say, Wuthering Heights. Anne just seems a little more grounded in reality than her sisters.
