Subject: "This is a test"? (Requestor Conditions)

I've just received a request for two of my books. The requestor has "this is a test" as their only condition.

Anyone have a clue as to what this might mean? A test of me? Of my packing skills? Of my ability to get the books to them at the speed of light?

A part of me is thinking that this requestor could end up asking for their credits back...saying "sorry, you failed the test."

Right now, I'm thinking of refusing the request.

In my position, what would you do? Any and all advice is welcome. BTW, both of the books are WLed so there's not going to be a problem sending them to someone else.

lol... Sorry, I had to laugh! I have not gotten one of these yet. Maybe the person was just trying to figure out what this specific part of PBS was used for and typed this in there to see what it would do??

Just my thought.

Hard to read minds, of course, but it seems like they might have been playing with their settings, and didn't mean to leave that request in place?  They may be new and trying to figure out when that message appears, not realizing that they, themselves, won't ever see it?

You could accept and PM them, politely asking about their RC and telling them you won't mail until you hear from them, and if you don't hear from them by X date, you'll cancel the request.   Since, as you say, it is a WL item, if you have to cancel there are other folks waiting you can send to without going to the back of the FIFO line.

Yes, you'd be within your rights to deline due to the odd RCs, but you'd also miss a potential opportunity to be helpful in pointing out the confusion, too.

Cheers,

Catt

maybe it's a test to see how many times they get rejected for simply having conditions?

Oh, my Lord, those are MY conditions! I was playing around with my account and I thought I turned them off again.

I do want your books, I don't have conditions of any kind.

So sorry to confuse you Carole.  LOL.

Ps it was testing the feature, NOT the sender!  I PM'd you.

What I want to know is how many people refused her a WL book because of her conditions before this was discovered. :D

I think these were the only ones, Jane.  I didn't get any other offers, and this playing-around was only a couple of days ago.  Me oh my.  Pays to read the forums, huh?

:)

"What I want to know is how many people refused her a WL book because of her conditions before this was discovered. "

I'm guessing that those people must have flunked the test!  :-)

How funny!  I guess the lesson here is if you're confused, always send a pm instead of assuming the worst!

haha I threatened once to make a condition that says I have no conditions to see how many people rejected me. Totally different but at first I thought thats what the "test" was.

LOL Liese -

As soon as I saw this I thought "This is only a test.  If these were actual requestor conditions, you would have been informed where to turn your radio for further information."

ROFL Kari.

I actually thought seeing the title of the forum topic "how funny, someone else was playing with their RCs just like I did"...then I realised, WAIT.   and checked the sender of the two books I had just requested!

I think it was a test of me, and not the sender OR the feature....and I failed LOL..

Phooey on my first thought being like Kari's "If this had been an actual condition..."
