Is that at your home? OMG. How did you get outside to take the picture?!

I'm really going to quit bitching about the winter here. ;-)

AMAZING!!  Think of it as shovel aerobics.  That what I do.  Are they talking spring flooding there too?

Geez, Vicki! I was wearing shorts while working in my yard this afternoon! It gets cold at night here, but the days are glorious. I will never complain about having to wear so many clothes again, ever.

That is a LOT of snow! It's so pretty!

You know, the snow IS pretty.  But we've had such an unusually large amount of it this year!  We have been hammered all month.

Jerelyn, that's the big fear now; flooding.  It's a real problem in my county.

Shorts?  Ahhh....wouldn't that be lovely!

We live in a gorgeous area, no doubt about that.  But man..I am ready for spring!

So, Vicky, how's the bookmobile get thru? LOL.

I showed my daughter the picture of your house. I can't even print what she said.

I'm only a few hours from you. Please don't send it our way. We had 5-6 foot drifts in the roads this a.m. from high winds. They closed the turnpike out our way for 7 hours. Still, I can see my roof. :P

Oh my goodness.

If we had that much snow, our entire state would just stop until, oh, about June.

Genie..this could explain why we don't have a bookmobile!! LOL..

We had snow after snow...four feet on the ground.  Then last weekend some sun, and some melting.  Maybe down to about two feet.  Then..bam.  Thursday it started again, this time with the high winds, so there was quite a bit of drifting.  And they say to expect another 16" on top of what we have now.  Genie's daughter probably said exactly what I've been saying lately...our kids have missed so much school!

I was wearing shorts while working in my yard this afternoon!

Valli - Nobody in crappy climates like people who say stuff like this!  LOL!

Vicky - My condolences on the snow (although I don't mind being snowed in from time to time)!  I've certainly seen my share of stuff like that living in Minnesota, but we've gotten by pretty easy this year.  It seems you east coast people have been taking one for the team this year!  Your house looks so nice though.  Love the style.  I hope you get a slow melt to keep flooding at bay!  Do your dogs like rolicking in the snow?  Probably only when it's not several feet over their heads!  Hope you're stocked up on provisions.  Doesn't sound like you'll be getting out much this weekend.  The important question, though, is do you have enough to read or do we have to send a care package via snowmobile?  Wouldn't that suck?  Being snowed in with nothing to read!  Imagine the horror!  Fortunately with my TBR mega-mountain, that'll never happen.  Stay snug and cozy!!

Thanks for sharing your pictures!  We should do more of that around here!

Beautiful home, Vicky & beautiful dogs - thanks for sharing!

I had to chuckle about Shelley's remark about being snowed in w/o anything to read - not that that would *ever* happen in this group! When the ice storm knocked down power poles and electricity in my area for 6 to 10 days in late January, the common remark around town was about how boring things got. Not for me !! As long as my batteries held out & I could get a flashlight balanced on my shoulder, boredom was not going to be a problem!

We are soooo lucky to be readers, aren't we? I mean, really.

Kelly

Being snowed in with nothing to read?  My greatest fear, and the most unlikely thing to ever happen to me.  Ever.

We got another foot of snow yesterday; should get another foot today.  Then, hopefully, it will be done.  Actually, I'm afraid to look at the long range forecast.  I only worked (at my regular library) FIVE days this month!  The other days I stayed home (snowed in) or managed to get to our new branch which isn't open  yet and work some there.

I enjoy that "We're snowed in!!" feeling, and LOVED snow days as a kid.  But this has been a bad winter, and a hard month.  I see deer out in the fields, eating hay right along with the horses and cattle.  I feel bad for them; this has been unrelenting.

My dogs are my babies, I'm afraid.  They LOVE snow, but are turning 7 this year and are slowing down a bit.  And this is a little hard to play in.  They have a game, of stalk and chase they like.  When I say "Let's romp and play" they know what it means, and do so!

Okay..the good news is, we still have power!  I don't mind losing power at first, but it gets so cold eventually.  I hate that.  At least we have water w/o electricity.  That's so fortunate!  And yes...we ARE lucky to be readers!

Uggg.....we got another 24 inches dumped on us in Syracuse, NY over the last day.....I think we're up to 120 inches so far this year (which sadly, is not that out of the average).  The funny thing, everyone's so used to it here that schools closed but everyplace else was open.  You can't live here without four wheel drive!

Thanks for the pictures Vicky!  You have a lovely home and dogs.  Wow, the snow puts even those of us in the Midwest to shame.  Hope your power stays on and that you all stay safe and warm with lots of great books to read!

Snow has been out of control this year, but I dont mind. I feel like we moved back to Maine, except they dont plow very well here.

Vicky, your dogs are gorgeous!! I have similar pictures of what you posted, but they were taken in Maine last winter. It is normal up there, I didnt expect it in WV. Our kids only had school a few days the whole month. It has snowed every day except last weekend where it actually got to 45 degrees and rained for two days. Then of course, we got another foot of snow. I guess it warmed up to melt what we had, so we could be ready for the next storm. Farmer's Almanac says this will continue till end of March. Preston County (next county over from us) looks a lot like the pictures you posted. Everyone has been snowed in. Unfortunately, we live in the city and I only work a mile from home, so I cant use the "snowed in" excuse. They know I have a four wheel drive, lol. And I have enough books to keep me occupied for a long siege.

Vicky, your dogs are gorgeous!!

Thanks!:)  I think so too, but I'm their mom, so...Right now, Libbie is whining to go outside with dh, who is trying to shovel another path out.  Heidi loves her comfort, and wants to nestle inside.  They are so funny, such different personalities.

I just looked at the forecast; snow showers all week, and then sunny and 40 degrees on Saturday!!  This could be bad, if this stuff melts too quickly.  I'd rather have snow than flooding.
