This probably more appropriately belongs in CMT, but I thought I'd rather share it with my Christian book friends.  Some of real-life friends and I are doing this on facebook.  Every day from now until Thanksgiving, we are updating our status starting with "Today I am thankful for...."  It's easy the first few days, but gets harder to think of something to new each day. But should it ever be so hard?  I am so blessed.....  Will you join me in a daily dose of thankfulness?

Today, I am thankful for my new window seat.  I sat in it and read my book about Martha Washington and then took a nap.

Great thread and wonderful idea to encourage our hearts of gratitude:

Today as a blessed adoptee, I am thankful that my birth mother chose life & adoption even when her delivery of me was risky ( She had cancer and a communicable disease)- praise God she survived and I was the answer to my adoptive parents desire for a child!

As I sat in church yesterday, I looked around me and realized that my whole immediate family was in attendance: My husband, my two sons, my mother, my dad, my mother-in-law, and my father-in-law. What a blessing! I am so thankful that we can all worship the Lord together.

I'm thankful that 'Hurricane Ida' downgraded to a tropical storm.  We'll still get plenty of rain and wind but could have been worse.

Christa, my family and friends are doing that this month on Facebook also.

Today, I am thankful for the US Marine Corp.  Today is their birthday.  I am thankful for every man and woman who have, over the years, been willing to put their life on the line that I might have freedom.

I am thankful today for a new friend who refused to let me "withdraw" into myself.  She just kept calling me and telling me about things going on that I might be interested in. Never pushy but alway welcoming me to do things.  Today she called at 10 and wanted to know if I knew about a lunch for one of the church ladies at noon.   I didn't want to go, but I told her I would, so I did.

What a blessing to me.  It is so easy for me to settle into this routine of not seeing people when I'm depressed.  Thank you Merlin for pushing me to get out.

I am thankful that baby Dionna (* see other thread) seems to be improving. In fact she set off all the alarms when she got very excited with a toy that her grandparents brought to her in the hospital.   In fact the nurses had to take the toy away from her.

And I am thankful for everyone who said prayers for her!

Please pray for Dionna K. who is 9 months old and is seriously ill with the H1N1 virus after getting the vaccine for it.  Her heart stopped yesterday and she needs all the prayers she can get.

Thank you!

(Her grandfather works with my sister.)

Today I am thankful for the young man God put in my daughter's life.  He graduates from his two-year Associate's Degree program tonight.  He has taken a little more than two years to complete it, but he worked 40 hour a week the whole time and went to school four nights a weeks.  We are so proud of him!
