If PBS hasn't responded it's probably because they are investigating his account although it would be nice if they sent out an automated "we will look into this" email.  It was probably an honest mistake on his part but he still needs to make it right with you.  He probably lost a label and reprinted them and then put the wrong label on the book meant for someone else.  And yes PBS will try to make it right with you.  But they will give the sender a chance to correct things first.

I don't know how many days you waited for the member to respond but PBS says to give people a week to respond to messages as not everyone has computer access everyday.

I believe, and I could be wrong here, that PBS can identify who it was to go to from the Request ID # on the label, so be sure to keep that, just in case.  Good luck. Pat

But the label is for the book the OP requested so that won't help. They can tell who the book was supposed to go to from the senders account.

I know its frustrating to have a problem swap, but likely this just requires a little more patience. The Help Center says to give a member a week to respond to a PM regarding a problem swap before contacting the site, it sounds like you may have been a little short of that. Looking at the timeline, it also looks like much of the time since you contacted the PBSTeam has been weekend.  Give them some time this next week to look into the transaction, contact the other member, and then follow up with you. They usually respond in 2-3 days, but weekends may be a little slower for things that are not time sensitive.

Don't dispair Pat, PBS Admin can take awhile to investigate and respond.  I think they try to correspond with the other member and give them several days to contact TPTB.  Give a a couple more days, then if you haven't heard back you might ask the status of your original complaint.

Thanks - I will wait.  Just trying to get things done before the holidays.  I have both package wrappings plus scans of the labels and Post Office's message which I offered to mail to PBS plus the sender.

Well, just keep in mind that to make you whole, basically, you just need a refund of the $3.43 that you paid.

The original sender may not want to give to credit or money on top of that to forward the book onto someone else, and he wouldn't be required to.

That other requestor will get their credit back when the book goes lost in the mail (or if/when PBS cancels the transaction, seeing as how you have the book).

If that's how the sender chooses to handle this, then you woudl be free at that point to repost the book yourself if you wanted to.

It sounds to me as if this wasn't deliberate.  I think she printed out the label for your book, and then was mailing another book to someone else.  She thought she was printing the wrapper for the second book but accidentally printed yours out a second time.

I agree - I think it was an accident and that was why I paid the postage due so that our Postmaster did not send it back as a scam.  It was the Postmaster who said he was trying to cheat the post office not me.

I just want the 3.43 returned and a label to mail the book that does not belong to me back to sender or to the original requester.  If he prefers, I will donate the book somewhere but I do not feel entitled to reposting it.

Since a week has passed perhaps PBS will be responding soon.
