The book is actually quite entertaining. And he goes into the fact that although he collected money to build a specific school, when he got the funds and materials, the people said a school was useless to them until they had a bridge to get across a raging river.  He was practically held up and robbed blind while people "assisting" him in other countries took what they wanted while carting him around to the ritual tribe meetings.  Once I heard there was fraud involved, I dropped the book. Then went back again and was willing to give him his due on trying to do the right thing, but then the accusations of wasting money on travel and family came out and I was so disillusioned.

I take this as a case of a good idea gone horribly wrong - good intentions and personal weakness.

His co-author still deserves praise on the fascinating writing though.
