Not your average Regency romance. A good mystery, a strong, smart heroine, an intelligent hero, intrigue, adventure = a very good book.

A really good book, the storyline is well done, the characters are so real and interesting that you want to know them better. A great afternoon read.

Emma, the supposed spunky protagonist, for all her insights into the lives of both upstairs/downstairs, still seemed incredibly naive. The romance between she and Edison was not well-developed. They were around each other, they were conveniently engaged, and then "poof" they are suddenly in love. It just did not seem natural, or plausible, if plausability is allowed in romance novels. There are other more entertaining stories with better twists and mysteries out there.
