hey all sorry if this has been asked before. I looked on goodreads but couldn't find this theme-I'd like a romance novel where the guy pays the girl to be/pretend to be his wife/girlfriend. I'm ok with contemporary or historical the more alpha/tough the man is the better. Thanks!

Lie to Me by Star Ambrose (contemp)

Caught Up in You by Roni Lauren (erotica) - This one kinda goes that way, but she refuses payment in place of a 'trades good for services' type of arrangement.

Rebecca posted in the 'It's May! What are you reading?' thread that she recently read The Marriage Bargain by Jennifer Probst. That book was about a business arrangement between a rich guy and a girl who was struggling financially.

Kristen Ashley's Penmort Castle is that "trope".  I love her books, so it's a winner to me.  The H is definitely an Alpha.

Sorry, Evelyn, right now it's ebook only. If you have a Nook (or the nook app) I still have the lending option on it and I'd be happy to lend it to you.
