When notorious pirate Captain Doom tries to capture his enemy Admiral Snow, he winds up with Snow's daughter, Lucy. Lucy is kept blindfolded throughout her ordeal and eventually returned to safety. On her arrival home, her father hires Gerard Claremont to act as her bodyguard. Everything about him sparks her defiance. Lucy just wants him out of her life so she can gain some independence. Gerard just wants to find proof that Admiral Snow tricked him into a life or piracy and killed his crew.

I usually don't care for pirate books, but I liked this one. The story moved from a kidnapping, to a bodyguard falling for his charge, to a high-seas adventure. The dialogue between Gerard and Lucy kept me entertained. My rating: 4 Stars.
