I was being distracted yesterday at the P.O. when using the automated postal machine. I weighed them at the scale provided before hand and found that they weighed less then what PBS marked for. So I figured out the postage using an old PO reciept. Well, I believe that I forgot to cross out media mail on a few when I upgraded to first class. I know by reading here that those packages will come postage due, but I don't know which ones. Will they be returned to me with postage due or sent to the requestor as postage due? How should I handle it with my requestors?

I think the difference was at most 30 cents or something. The PBS postage said 1 lb media rate for those two books but I down graded to first class b/c they were actually lighter BUT I forgot to cross out MEDIA MAIL on the wrapper. Therefore I didn't pay enough for the media mail rate that the wrapper is labled as.

Rachel, unless the books were under 7oz. Media Mail will be cheaper than First Class.  It's possible the books will arrive without postage issues.  If for some reason they arrive postage due, the receiver should contact you to refund the difference which you can do with a credit, postage stamps, or other method you both agree upon.  If you know which books are at risk for arriving postage due, you could pm the receiver and indicate your willingness to refund any postage due costs they incure (some members refuse postage due packages).

I think I know which ones are going to arrive postage due, I haven't recieved credits for two yet but I think I'll PM everyone and let them know if they recieve that I'm willing to refund for the postage.

Okay, so I have two shipments that have not had the DC barcode scan. I'm guessing the culpits are these two and have PMed the requestors to let them know what's up.
