I need the WL offers to stop coming in or I'm never going to catch up.  I haven't been getting any shelf orders or BOB offers lately.  I know it's because I don't have much of a shelf right now.  But I can't seem to get around to reading any non-WL or swap books to build up my shelf.  The WL offers keep rolling in and most of them are still WL.  So the pile is ever growing.  So I'm putting everything but BOB on hold for now.  I'll keep that open just in case someone offers me a BOB. I might put some books that I'm the one waiting for on autorequest.  But anything with a long line, I don't care how close I am to the top, is going on hold. I don't want to have pack up and move all these WL books.  I'm going to try and refrain from joining anymore Swaps.  Probably won't happen but I'm going to try.

Nothing wrong with taking a break if you need it. I wish I had the will power.

I've been thinking about it for a while and I just couldn't bring myself to hit the hold button.  But now that I'm packing stuff up into storage and getting the house ready to put on the market- I really need to downsize the book collection.  It makes the most sense to me to read and post the WL books first. But they keep coming in making it harder to decide what to read and increasing the pile.

I really wish the new WL was in effect so I could just put that on hold and could still get book orders.  But I haven't been getting any of those so that's why I finally decided just go with hold.  I'm thinking about posting some books that have a lot in the system so they'll move up on FIFO while my account is on hold. But then if I get a BOB offer for them, I'll have to speed read them. So I better not do too many.

This is why it'd be great to put your WL on hold and not your shelf.  Make sure that your WL books are NOT set to auto-request.  If they are, you'll still get them while your acct is on hold.

I feel on the downward slide of that one too.  Thankfully I have a small WL but I am just so overwhelmed with books, espeically since I came home with 17 new ones from Goodwill yesterday.  Only 2 are ones I've read before that'll get posted right away.  Bought them because I knew they're usually on WL for someone.

When the new WL comes out you'll be able to put some or all your WL books on hold.  But I need to stop them coming in now. I went through my WL and put the one's for my daughter and the audios on autorequest.  The rest are on hold.  I was tempted to put a few with long lines that I'm near the top on autorequest as well. But I decided, they'll still be there when I'm ready to start getting them again. If a few people pass me up in the mean time that's ok. It's not like I don't have anything else to read.   I even removed a few that I know will be plentiful in the system once they come out and the line moves quickly.  I put them on my RL.

I bought about 20 books from Half-price books yesterday. Only a couple were WL on here.  The rest were on clearance for $1 and I figured that's cheaper than a credit.  I'll read them eventually and post them and hopefully swap them in a BOB or something.

Right now, you have to put your whole account on hold to put your WL on hold.  While on hold, anything on auto-request will still be ordered for you.

When the new WL comes out, you'll be able to put just your WL on hold but not your bookshelf.

I think I might like the new wish list! There are several books I'm coming up on getting pretty fast and I wish someitmes I could do 'cuts for c uts' you know?! like, bump fromthe 1st position to maybe 3 or 4!

I wish it would come out soon.  I want to be able to do BOBs and send out books.  But I have to stop the WL offers and I don't want to have to cancel each time and add it to my list again.  Also I know I won't have the will power to do this.  I'd rather people just pass me in the line for now. I can get BOB offers but only if someone's looking for a particular book and I have it, not by them looking at myshelf and making an offer.

I thought before that when a person had their account on HOLD you could still see their shelf but it said 'account on hold' at the top.now you can't see their shelf at all!

I know, I was hoping that would be the case and I would still get BOB offers.  But no, now you can't see it so the only way I'll get a BOB offer is if someone's looking specifcally for one of the books I have posted.
