This book features Hercule Poirot, Agatha Christie's famous "Belgian, not French" detective. This book is a great read and the ending is one that will definately surprise you.

Agatha Christie is so hilarious! She writes Hercule Poirot as such a dry and conceited man, but that's what makes him so funny. I loved this story. Christie is great at red herrings to throw you off the real trail. But Hercurle Poirot always gets to the truth!

Beautiful, selfish actress Jane Wilkinson wants to exchange her husband for another one, a wealthier one. When her husband turns up dead all know she is the murderess. Poirot takes the case on only to find out some even worse things about this woman.

I was disappointed by this Poirot novel at first; both Hastings and Japp are back in full force, still thinking Poirot has gotten senile at last. But even though the second time through I remembered the culprit from the start, the mechanics of the crime are quite ingenious, and the letter from the killer that closes the novel had me chuckling. All in all, a strong outing for Poirot.
