Thomas S. Gressman is an American known both as a science fiction writer and for being one of the founding members of the Celtic filk band Fianna.
As a writer, Thom worked primarily for the now defunct FASA Corporation, writing for their BattleTech line. He wrote several game modules, and six novels, four for BattleTech / MechWarrior, one for The Maelstrom, and one for Crimson Skies.
Along with Christina Chamberlain, Thom is one of the founding members of the Celtic filk band Fianna. He shares lead vocals with Christina, and plays 6 and 12 string guitar, mandolin, pennywhistle and bodhran.Fianna’s repertoire is a quirky mix of traditional Irish and Scots folk songs, blues, rock, and original songs with a science-fiction / fantasy / military flair. Their first CD “All Things in Time” was released in 2005.
Currently, Thom is working as an Assistive Technology Specialist, and the Keystone Regiment of Civil War re-enactors, as their Chaplain.
Thom lives in southwestern Pennsylvania, in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains.
