Historical books. . . mostly regency?

humorous?  dramatic?

Worth reading?

Author(s) with similar writing style to hers?

Does she write the "Lords of Soundrels" I read about so often??

Thanks . . . :)

She writes historical regencies and yes she wrote Lord of Scoundrels and its a super book. I really love her books. They are wonderfully written, sexy, some are VERY funny while others are more dramatic. If you enjoy Connie Brockway or Julia Quinn, I think you will also enjoy Loretta Chase. My favorites are Lord of Scoundrels, The Last Hellion and her newest - Don't Tempt Me. I also really enjoyed the entire Carsington Series - Lord Perfect - Miss Wonderful and Mr. Impossible.

Ditto, although I wasn't crazy about Miss Wonderful.   All Chase fans vary just a little on favorites though.  Lord of Scoundrels is the one that seems most universally loved.

Her last few books have not been winners for me, but she is generally one of the wittiest writers out there.

LC is awesome! I really enjoyed LoS, but I loved Not Quite a Lady even more. I liked Ms. Wonderful and Lord Perfect equally, but I thought Mr. Impossible was just ok. You might also like Eloisa James. Of hers, A Duke of Her Own I thought was very emotional and poignant and I just adored it.

Was Lord of Scoundrels the one where she shot him? If it is, it is one of my favorite books. You wouldn't think shooting him would be funny but I laughed a lot and rooted for the heroine.

Its been a while since I read this book but I don't remember Jessica shooting Dain. I actually don't remember that happening in any of the Chase books I've read but I haven't read them all. But I could definitely be wrong because sometimes the plots all run together for me lol.

What I love about LoS is how neurotic Dain is.  The shooting is funny, if a little horrifying though.  I just enjoy the way Jessica turns his life upside down & he's going through all of this drama & denial, but she's got him in the palm of her hand.  It's hilarious.  The scene where she's talking to him about how sensitive & high strung he is just puts me on the floor:P

Thanks for the comments.  I have read many of Eloisa James' books and really enjoyed them...the rest are in my TBR pile.  If Loretta Chase is similar, then I'm sure to enjoy her books, as well.

I'm just the opposite: I have some Eloisa James books on my TBR but have not read them.

I think I have Last Hellion here and should pick it up. I really liked Don't Tempt Me also. I like her heroines.
