On Tuesday morning I got a request for a book on my bookshelf. I am currently offering a 2 for 1 on my enitre shelf except for audio books. I decided to pm the person that requested the book and give him a chance to pick a free book. I stated that I was hoping to mail the books Friday and to please respond ASAP. In order to mail the book on time I have to get it to the post office today. Should I just send the one book and assume that he does not want another? I do not mind mailing 2 at one time, but I do not want to get the freebie request on Sat. or Sun. and then have to mail the free book at full postage? Any suggestions??

Thanks

I think you should just send the one book that was ordered. Most likely, the user has no idea you were running the 2 for 1 deal and ordered off of your shelf randomly.

You told him you time frame to send, he hasn't responded, mail the one book.

I agree, mail the book. The person didn't respond within your time frame so it's their loss.

I had the exact same thing happen. I wrote offering to include some free books with the order, but needed to mail by X date.  Two days after I mailed out the requested book, I got a PM saying, 'sure, mail the freebies'  -- I wrote back, sorry, the book you ordered has already been mailed.

If you snooze, you lose. Ya know?

Ok in defense of my post-there was nothing in the original thread when I read it-it just said "any thoughts"

When I am running a deal, I never PM people who get my  books from FIFO...seems too much hassle and wait (from what I have heard) to see if they want a freebie. Plus, I like to mail out the next day :)

Yes, I know. I typed in the subject line and hit 'ENTER' hoping to jump to the text box, but instead my post was posted without any context. I tried to edit my post before anyone saw, but you were too quick for me.
