I loved this book! It sounds like a basic who done it, but it has an incredable twist at the end that makes it a whole lot more.

This book is truly amazing, and the movie does it no justice. It is the kind of book that leaves you shocked though you've been warned that there will be a surprising twist at the end. No matter how analytical you become you will still be utterly surprised. Then you will think back and say to yourself, "Wow, it was there all along!" Don't let anyone spoil it for you. Don't watch the movie beforehand.

I can only hope that my one star rating will help nudge this book's overall rating below 4 stars because as it stands now it is severely inflated and misleading...So much so that initially I had no doubt in my mind that I would find some level of enjoyment in the book. My dear PaperBackSwap friends, this is the first time you have lead me astray.

I'm not a book snob by any means, and typically I can find at least something enjoyable with each book I crack open, but this is by far the worst book I've read in ages. As I sit hear reading through all of the 4 and 5 star reviews I shake my head and wonder if we were reading the same book?

A few things that really bothered me about this book (without giving away the story for all of you poor misguided souls who managed to read this review and STILL decide to read this book):

- Dekker must have loved M. Night Shyamalan's "The Sixth Sense" so much so that he decided to fill a 352 page novel with a gazillion plot twists. I'm all for a good twist here and there but Teddy you went severely overboard with this book. By about page 225 it grew tiresome and I really didn't care anymore. Hell, the only reason I finished reading the book was simply because I'm not one to leave a book semi-read, regardless of how horrific it is.

- Teddy please listen closely to this one. Grown adults do not call someone that they despise and want to murder a "puke face" in an attempt to insult them. Now I understand that you are a Christian author but if you want to be taken even somewhat seriously in a book like this the least you could do was throw in a good "asshole", "bitch", or "mother fucker" every once and a while.

- Finally (trust me I could go on and on and on but I've already devoted way too much time to this atrocity already), the story is just plain ridiculous. Once all the dust settles, and the gazillion twists are untwisted, Teddy haphazardly tries to make all of the events seem credible but to no avail.

A few good things about this book:

- I did find the story of Kevin's strange upbringing somewhat intriguing, but that was before Teddy ruined it all. Damn you Teddy.

- It's a quick read so while it will definitely be a waste of your time it won't waste too much time. That's a plus right?

Enjoy!!

Wow! I am usually not much for thrillers, but this one had me hooked. Also I often find books to be predictable, but this book kept me guessing till the end! Great for a person who loves thrillers, but without the blood and gore that often comes with it. I can't wait to read more by this author!

Ted Dekker is my favorite author ever, I have and read every book he has written. This one is probally his best. Made into a movie, Thr3e will keep wondering until the end, but when it comes you believe it. Pay attention to the beggining. It plays a important role though the book and is a great message.

WOW! What a book...I loved it!!! Ted Dekker is my new favorite author! During the entire book I kept wondering how he was going to tie Christianity into the story. I shouldn't have worried. I sat in total awe at the end of the book just soaking it all in! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a thrill, but appreciates a good Christian twist.

I absolutely did not see the ending coming at all - really threw me for a loop a couple of times! I finished the book quickly because I really didn't want to put it down, and I'll probably get more sleep now since I'm done reading this. I was staying up WAY too late reading this one. A real page turner!

Dekker is one of those authors that I either love his books or hate his books. Hardly do I find one I'm indifferent about. This one I absolutely loved - maybe the best one of his I've read. The suspense is fantastic and the plot well designed and well written. The twisted ending caught me off guard and was perfect. Highly recommend!!

Yet another page turner by this author, with a deep message in the bargain! This is a great book for anyone who's ever struggled with man's ability to do evil and at the same time love tenderly. Kevin, a young man in seminary, struggles with that question. Then a boy from his past appears on the scene and threatens to blow up his car if he doesn't confess to the news media. With help from his childhood best (and only) friend, Samantha, and a sympathetic criminal psychologist, he finally tracks down the man and finds out what it is he's supposed to confess. A gripping conclusion!

The cover alone gives you chills!! Creepy!!

One day, after a brief discussion with the dean of acedemic affairs, at his seminology school, Kevin Parson's life changes forever. He just had a discussion with the dean about the evil in humanity when on his drive home he receives a call on his cell phone.

The caller gives him three minutes to confess his sin or his car will blow up. The caller, who calls himself Slater, also gives Kevin a riddle. This begins a harrowing journey over a span of just a few days. Slater calls with a riddle and a threat, wanting Kevin to confess his sin not only to him on the phone, but also publicly. The problem is that Kevin doesn't know What sin. The FBI get involved, and also a girl from Kevin's past, he girl he once loved, may have the key to help Kevin, but that's only if she lives.

Ted Dekker pens a psychological thriller that will give you chills and shock you. His pen is a sword that dips and parries and will leave you guessing until the very stunning conclusion. If your looing for a can't put down thriller, pick up Thr3e! You will not be disappointed!!

A spiritual thriller book that will make you think you have things figured out, just to find that at the end you didn't have a clue! Wow! Sometimes it takes me a bit to get through books, but not this one! A lot like Frank Peretti's style of writing. Highly recommended! Can't wait to read another Ted Dekker book. I hope they really do turn this into a movie like the cover says.

While this was no doubt a clever story with a fascinating concept, I did not love it as much as most reveiwers. As I don't want to give anything away, by the end I did feel the antagonist's execution of terrorism was unlikely. I felt as though the twists in the plot were "led up to" and by the climax, I was, for lack of better words, "preparred". I like to be completely blind-sided when I read a mystery/suspense. Other than that, this was a well-paced read, with an interesting look into the main character's upbringing. I do have the movie on my DVR at home, and I look forward to seeing how it is adapted. Overall, a good book...and I will likely read another by Dekker.

This book begins as all others, letting you into the past lives of the characters...bringing them to life for you and leading into the present. The middle is a bit of a drag...let's get on with this already...but the last 100 pages make the wait all worth it...this is a gripping page turning with an end that will both captivate and amaze.

Ted Dekker is an amazing author, and this book is definitely interesting. The ending was shocking and a bit upsetting, but if it had ended any differently, it wouldn't be Ted Dekker. Although its not the kind of book I'm normally interested in, and I definitely enjoyed his Circle Trilogy better, it was still a great read.

A man is driving his car when his cell phone rings. The voice on the other end tells him that if he doesn't confess his biggest sin, his car will be blown to pieces in three minutes. This begins a frightening series of demands from an unknown assailant.

Kevin Parsons is an extremely intelligent seminary student in California. He considers his dean, John Francis, one of his best friends and most valued advisor.
Kevin is leaving the seminary to go home when his cell phone rings and as he answers, is greeted by a raspy-voiced individual who has a riddle for Kevin that he must solve. He must also confess his sin within 3 minutes or the car will blow up.
Kevin has no idea what he caller could be seeking with the confession and can not solve the riddle. He pulls his car into an almost deserted Wal-Mart and the car then blows up.
This makes Kevin and his story the headlines of the day. The FBI is drawn in with Jennifer being the main figure. Jennifer has just lost her brother, Roy, to a man called the "Riddle Killer" and she is convinced that these are the same individual.
We then start to learn about Kevin's childhood and living with his aunt Balinda, her husband Eugene and his cousin, Bob, who is retarded. Things were not normal for Kevin, but he has stepped away and started living his life on his own.
As this story progresses and you are drawn into the minds of these characters, it becomes so compelling. There are major secrets about Kevin's childhood including his friendship with a girl named Sam and incidents with a boy that tried to interfere with their friendship.
Ted Dekker definitely put twists and turns into the story and will have you guessing right until the very end of the book. I would definitely consider him a new must-read author for me.

Wow- I certainly agree with Ronnie G.! but unlike him I didn't finish it--it sooooooooooooo slooooooooooooow and just repeats and repeats and finally I just didn't care anymore. I didn't find (what I did read) anything suspenseful or thrilling about it.

I've read some Dekker books that have been really good but this is not one of them.

Thr3e by Ted Dekker is one of the best thrillers I've read this year. It's the only book by Dekker that I've read, so I'll be looking for more.

When Kevin gets the cell phone call to confess his sins within three minutes or else his car will blow up, he has no idea what the caller named Slater is talking about. Kevin is a seminary student, is quiet and causes no trouble. So who is this Slater and what is he talking about?

In most thrillers there is an element of the bizarre, and this is no exception. This book reads fast, and it's a race to the end to find out who Slater is and what he wants. Great book.

This book was a disappointment to me. It was great reading all the way through and kept you turning pages, but I felt the ending was too much over the top for me. I was really let down because it just wasn't believable in the end. Left a few loose ends to things that were woven in as important elements to the story, as well. The reading was enjoyable, but the conclusion was not. I like to read the books before seeing the movies-this is a movie I will probably pass on now that I know the ending.

Ugh! I thought this book would never end! It was predictable, boring, and just a little too preachy for my taste. Who ever heard of a serial killer who didn't swear? Not realistic at all. I can't even imagine why anyone would want to make a movie about it.

Wow, from someone who reads well over 100+ books of this genre annually, seldom do I find one that measures up to a 5-star rating.

This book was unpredictable from the beginning. The characters are fleshed out throughout the story and totally genuine.

The gist of the storyline is what earns this book a "WOW" from me. I challenge any reader not to question his/her own beliefs by the end of the story.

Kudos to Mr. Dekker for writing a book I will not soon forget.

I cannot say much about this book. It is too good to say much about for fear of saying something that might give part of the story away. So this I do say: It absolutely has got to be one of the best books I have ever read in my entire life. I really enjoyed it. Really. I encourage you to go read it. I would think that anyone 10 yrs or older, if they are mature, could read and enjoy it. Please go do so. It's a page turner to the extent that you do not want to put the book down until you know what the ending is. Dekker did an amazing job.

Wow, what a page-turner! This story follows seminary student Kevin, who is being terrorized by a man he comes to believe is an embittered, sadistic boy from his disturbed childhood. Kevin's best friend as a boy turns up to help him discover the identity of his tormentor and his reason for doing so. But not everything is as it appears, and the secrets hidden deep within Kevin eventually are exposed, causing the mystery and Kevin's torments to be put to rest. The theme of the story is that every person is caught in the struggle between good and evil. In fact, only the Christian has been freed to see and overcome his sin nature. But he must make the effort daily to kill sin, or sin will be killing him, as Puritan John Owen put it.
