It was enlightening to get the views of the first nations people on certain instances during the conflict. I was amazed that back in 1862, how rapidly the native tribes were able to communicate and come together. I felt it was horrible in how they were made to conform to the white man's ways but were continually cheated out of what was rightfully theirs.
The stories were a little disjointed with hopping back and forth between characters. Would have been a bit more enjoyable read if the time line flowed a bit more evenly.
