You may have heard the cliche, "if you loved someone, set them free; if they are yours, it will come back to you. If they don't, they never were." The wife in this book is almots to distracted by her career and "parenting" her aging mother to notice whether the husband she sends off on a solo vacation is ever coming home. This book has the same tone has some of Susan Isaacs' novels, comic but winsome.
