Posted this under sci fi, but no responses, so thought I'd try here under historical novels.   I love time travel books.  Where someone from one time period finds themselves in another time period and gets to explore and adapt to it.  My favorite is Time and Again by Jack Finney.  What are your favorites?

Outlander series Diana Gabaldon

A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux

Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley  (not my favorite but others are raving about it.)

You might post this in Love and Romance forum as well.

Ah, Kathleen I liked Time and Again by Jack Finney as well.  Recently read the sequel, too, From Time to Time, and have posted it to pass on to someone else.  Of the Outlander series, I've only read two of them.  One of these days I'll read the rest.

Outlander is of course the best time travel series out there, but I would also recommend the Alex Balfour series by Allen Appel.  There are four books in the series  - Time After Time, Til the End of Time, Twice Upon a Time, and In Time of War.  The way the fourth book ended just screamed, sequel, but so far, it hasn't appeared.

The time periods traveled to in this series include the Russian Revolution, Little Big Horn, World War II, and the Civil War.

Eric Flint has a alterntive history series that isn't too bad either. I Like Outlander a lot and enjoyed Winter Sea.

For me, Connie Willis is the best time travel author.  Doomsday Book, Blackout, All Clear, To Say Nothing of the Dog.

I agree Kindred was really good. I love time travel books.  My favorite is The Mirror by Marlys Milhiser.  A Wish in Time by Laurel Bradley was OK, worth reading.  A different take on time travel is Replay by Ken Grimwood.  In fact, it's one of my favortites for the year.
