Has anyone else read this?  I am about half way through and I'm still not sure if I like this book or not.

I'm still reading it.  I liked the beginning but the middle is just dragging along.  I just wish it would get moving along again.  Maybe I'm just not into the Punk scene, not sure.

This is one of my all time favorites too. Absolutely not anything I would have read without fellow PBSrs recommending it but I'm so glad I read it.

Okay... I finished it today, and I hate to say it, but I didn't really think it was that great.  I had high expectations for it but I just think it fell flat.  It had potential to be better than it was.

Diane,

I hated it, too.  I guess you and I are in the minority.  I wanted to like it but in the end it was a loser.  It bored me....

Edited to remove the "spoiler".  It wasn't intentional--I just wasn't thinking.  For what's it's worth what I posted shouldn't change your mind if you really want to read this one.  Ultimately, you know what's going to happen (it's also been posted on the forums about how sad this one is...even if I didn't find it sad at all) it's just all the things that happen leading up to it that make the story.  I'm sorry again if I spoiled it for anyone.

My book club is now reading it for this month's selection.

My prediction: half of them will love it. 25% won't make it past the first 50 pages. They will be too confused by the concept. The remaining 25% will like it, but will feel let down by not getting a Hollywood ending.

I am just happy to finally be discussing my fave book!

I liked this book but thought it dragged in places.  I'm glad I read it and it is definitely interesting and original, but I didn't totally love it like I thought I would.  I think I liked pondering the concept more than I liked the characters.

I started this book yesterday when I found out a movie version is coming out in August with Rachel McAdams. I can't put it down! I'm about 60% of the way through and just find it incredible. One of the main reasons is that Henry reminds me quite a bit of my boyfriend (even small things like his major in college and mannerisms,) and their relationship parallels ours in a lot of ways.

(And he is secretly a time traveller--shhh! :)

I understood the concept, was not confused by the timelines, and I still didn't like this book. I didn't find one character I could identify with or even care about and that's what really killed it for me.

Thumbs down.

My girlfriend was telling me about the movie.  I'd like to readthe book  IF I can ever get it...The WL is FOEVAH!   I'm one of those people who likes to read the book first.  The book is always better.  But every once in a while they will make a movie that's really close to the book.

Currently reading this and I am struggling to make it through.  I usually finish books quickly but I can't get into this one.  Hope it gets better!

This is one of the few books recently I have decided to keep after buying it instead of posting.  I just really enjoyed it - once I had enough time to finish it!  Finishing my senior year of college meant that it took me two months to get through it, but I found that it was worth it.  The end is great, so all ya'll struggling through it, hang in there!

I'm hoping the movie is better than the movie.

I read it after my son's gf recommended it to me.  After 50 pages, I wasn't enthralled (usually I quit if not into a book by then), but since she said it was so good I figured I'd give it another 50 pgs.  Glad I did.  I loved the book and can't wait for the movie!!

Very disappointed...with all the hype from the movie I though i'd give it a try.  It was ok, but nothing special about the book.
