For anyone interested in the experiences of the evacuated children in England during WWII, this is a fascinating read. The experiences ran the gamut from life-changingly good to horrifically bad and this is a balanced reporting. The author was evacuated, so he does know of whence he speaks. My only criticism is that these are snippets of many, many evacuees experiences and I found myself wishing for more of an in-depth look but this is a great starting point for anyone interested in the evacuee experience.
