This is the author's first novel and what a good one it is! A well written, gripping story about choices in life, the consequences of them, and how they're handled.

It grabbed me right from the beginning and wouldn't let go. I found that I was flying through the book but didn't want to. As hard as I tried to put it down and walk away at the end of a chapter I found that I didn't; I just kept on reading. How tortuous wanting to find out what's next but not wanting the book to come to an end?!?

This author also wrote The Penny Tree. It's a cute, light story but nonetheless a good book also.

So far I've read 2 Holly Kennedy books and I loved both of them! This book grabbed me right from the beginning and I couldn't put it down. Loved the main character and the story of her journey through childhood into adulthood. A very good read!

Not a love story but a story of love, a doomed love that is even more special because it has no future ... through the years, through going away, and marriage to another... and a secret that eventually must be told, as secrets usually must be so that the secret holder can move on....
