quick read- 2nd in the Lucy Stone mystery series

With three kids underfoot, a fourth on the way, and an oppressive heatwave bearing down, homemaker Lucy Stone is hardly enjoying an idyllic summer. But her preoccupation with swelling ankles, Bavarian creme doughnut cravings, and sewing endless sequins on ballet recital tutus gives way to dread when Lucy learns that her waistline isn't the only thing that's recently vanished from Tinker's Cove...

The strange disappearance of a retired dance instructor has the tiny coastal town in a tizzy that turns to terror when a notoriously cantankerous shopkeeper is slain right on Main Street. Now Lucy's up to her bulging belly in local suspects and red herrings. Eluded by a cold-blooded killer, with her due-date looming and the thermometer soaring, Lucy figures something has to break soon. With any luck, it won't be her water...

2nd book in Lucy Stone series. I enjoyed this one better than the first, though it dealt with darker subject matter.

This is a one-night read that will help you forget the issues of the day and just relax and have fun.
Meier gives us a little town full of long acquainted friends, curmudgeons, civic leaders and family. The disappearance of a dance professor from the local college sets neighbors and friends on a search that stalls out just as a local housewife discovers the body of a mean old store owner. For a short read, it has many twisty plot points, a few surprises and some serious moments.
A great cozy mystery without gore, but not without suspense

An excellent 2nd book in a solid mystery series.Homemaker Lucy Stone is becoming an endearing character for me. I really enjoyed this book even through it dealt with a more serious matter than in the first book.I will be reading more of this series.

The relationship between Bill and Lucy is a little frightening at times. I know that the author focused a bit more because of other aspects of the plot, but still...
Otherwise, another great book in the series, and of course I will continue reading!

2nd book in the Lucy Stone series.

I really liked it, Leslie Meier has created a character in Lucy that any mom can relate to. Although I had an idea of who the killer was from earlier on, I still enjoyed the story line, and plan on reading the entire series!!!

Enjoyed very much. Brought up some very good subjects for all of us to watch for and consider in this day and age. Characters are growing.

third in the series. Lucy is a very likeable character, lots of kids and lots of home pressure...in this one, she is pregnant with fourth child.

One of her better books. She did a very good job of weaving social issues into a good mystery.
