One of the best books I've ever read. It is a classic and a perfect book for both adults and children. Although it was written in 1958 it has a wonderful plot that kids of today can relate to. There is something about the basic plot the idea of a child being forced to stay home inside during the summer that any person, young or old can relate with.

I remember right after I finished this book I would listen to the grandfather clock at my grandparents house every night. I would hear it chime hoping it would reach 13 and that I would be as lucky as Tom (I was 9 with a very overactive immagination). But I think that is what makes this book so great that it feels so real.

If you have the time for a great read like a classic with British twist then spend a credit on this book it is definately more interesting then its cover.

Loved the story! Different than regular fantasy stories. The end made me want to cry.
