A different look at romance when an angel, Lady Tabitha, under the guidance of her heavenly mentor must arrange conditions so that her descendent who now possesses the family heirloom doesn't lose the family ranch to foreclosure. The angel who was a member of the medieval English court was the owner of the fabulous Lynnfield family brooch when she was alive. The gem is now in the possession of her descendent, Susan, a fiesty, young woman who is trying to keep her ranch from going into foreclosure in Texas in the American Old West. Hunter Carson is the only man around who can give Susan a loan so that she can buy feed for her cattle eventually selling them to pay her mortgage. Tabitha's angelic interventions have a habit of backfiring, causing all kinds of confusion for the earth bound Texans. For example, Tabitha's cure for the area drought is to call forth rain which unfortunately for Susan results in a deluge of Biblical proportions that threaten to wipe out the farm and anyone in the storm's path. Susan's pet pig has a habit of getting underfoot at the most inappropriate times. A childhood friend won't take no for an answer when Susan keeps turning down his marriage proposals. The Indians are raiding and threatening mayhem. There's a cultured Englishman in town who's a little too interested in Susan and her fabulous gem. And Susan and Hunter can't seem to keep their hands off each other. Also Hunter seems to have a secret of his own he's keeping from Susan. What can go wrong next?

Susan Whitten tends her ranch with her faithful companion, her pet pig. A drought forces her to seek a loan to keep her land, and only one man, Hunter Carson (if she can persuade him) can grant her wish and keep her from selling her precious family herloom brooch.

Somewhere in the skies above, a guardian angel looks down on Susan's dilema. Tabitha an ange who is a distant relative can arrange life's twists and turns and affiars of the heart(if she takes the time to think things through - if not the most unusual things can happen and do). Her divine meddling can work wonders or calamities - which will it be here?
