Has anyone read these?  There are only three out at this point.  I was lucky enough to get them all from the library and I'm almost finished with the third.  Hate to see them end but looking forward to a new release later this year I believe.

I don't know what I like about them so much.  Maybe cuz the main character is a single mom (which I was for years) and a waitress (which I did for a bit) and lives in a doublewide, (which I do now)! Anyway, they're good books and I'd highly recommend them.

They are:  Flamingo Fatale, Murder Over Easy and Best Served Cold.

The newest book will be out Jan 6th.  It's called Leftover Dead.

Jimmie Ruth is a man- I dont know why that shocked me- also he writes the bridge mystery series under the name Honor Hartman- which are very good as well

Heee. I love the Canadian t.v. series "Trailer Park Boys" so I figured I'd give this series a try. Number one is on my WL. :)

Um...was that directed at me? I don't think the t.v. series has anything to do with the books but they, seemingly, have to do with trailer parks. :)

I am excited to read the first one, too. They just sounded so quirky, and heck, my cozy reading could use some quirkiness!

I am pretty high up on the wish list (20 of 22 for the paperback), but I have enough cozies for now to be patient on getting a copy. It just gives me something to look forward to.

Im so torn about this series. I enjoy the writing. The characters are strong BUT he is soooooo offensive with his stereotyping of the south. I actually live in the area that the books are set in and I swear not everyone here is a bassacwards hick like he'd have you believe. We dont all have double names, there are no businesses with names that start with C that are misspelled on purpose starting with a K and people here really do not talk like that. Its maddening I tell you. I dunno If Im gonna read the third one cause it ticks me off so much to read all the stereotyping.

I just ordered Flamingo Fatale off  Ebay and paid very very little for it.  I could not find this author at Library and only went to one used book store and could not find it.  I live in a trailer park (single wide) so this should be pretty good.

I tried to read this book, I really did. it sounded like something I would enjoy. however, I agree with the other poster about the stereotyping of the south. I just could not get past it. I only got a few chapters in and then moved on to something else.

I hope to finish Flamingo Fatale tonight - it is cute - not as funny as I thought.  I might try the others.   Of course I just finished Lean Mean Thirteen - I did laugh though that!

I just read that this series will be ending (not sure if Leftover Dead is the last book or there will be one more).  It was dropped from the publisher :(

When I read the first I wasn't sure if I liked it for the sterotyping.  Just to let you know I live and have always lived up north.  I kept reading because there are some funny parts.  There may not be any places in the area that should start with a C and are spelled with a K in the book.  We have them here in Michigan.  Quite a popular place in Detroit is a Kafe.
