Another good entry in this series, although I wish there was more emphasis on the two major characters.

This is one of a series taking place in the year 1321. The keeper of the King's peace along with his friend the Bailiff, are great characters, who you feel like you know personally. Michael Jecks has a great knowledge of the history during this medieval time period.

If you love a good who dunnit this one will keep you guessing til the end. It makes one happy to deal with the shortcomings of our 21st century legal system. Enjoy trying to decide who's guilty and how innocent are the innocent?

Another good book by Michael Jecks. Reading his books, makes me very thankful I was born during the Medieval period. Like all his books, there are many twists and turns in this mystery.

There is a lot of filler in the story. Also, there is more blood and gore than earlier stories. It seemed to me that every time the victim was murdered they had to hold by his head. It was not really necessary. I got the full impact when the body was discovered. There were not a lot of clues that helped solve the mystery. Actually, it was a convoluted mystery and not my favorite of this series. I am working my way through the series. There's a long way to go-I'm on #9 and there are 32 of them.
