I had never read Allingham, one of the top writers of the Golden Age of mysteries. I finally did, and I am glad! Excellent writing, good story telling, and an interesting protagonist in Albert Campion, who here has to puzzle through a threat to England's government at the beginning of WW2 -- while suffering from amnesia!
Albert Campion British mystery...fun.
It's hard to be objective because I simply adore all the Albert Campion mysteries! Again, our suave hero is up against seamingly impossible task of saving Britain while combatting amnesia! A rousing good story, read by an excellent reader. I can't say it's the BEST Campion book I've ever read, but even at their worst, they'r great.
My husband and I enjoyed this book very much. We listened to it while going on a six hour trip.
