I have NEVER wanted to smack a character so much as I did the female in this book. As a woman, normally I can obviously find something I can relate to in the heroine; not in this book!! 2 1/2 stars.

This was a really great book. This was a great combination of a love story, a woman scorned, and a mystery all in one.

For 2 months Jamie had fallen in love with a lie. Cade was every woman's fantasy - until the mask came off in a scandal that left Jamie shattered. Cade had pretended to be someone he wasn't. Worse, he'd used her in his elaborate attempt to catch a man he believed was a swindler.

A nice quick read - bit of suspense and excitement with some romance thrown in.

From the back: Jamie loved working for the eccentric Miss Isabel. Her job often threw her into the company of the most fascinating people like Cade Senterre. From the start, he made no secret of the fact that he desired her. Only last night he'd tenderly made love to her but this morning the authorities visited changing everything!

I thought that the ending was good but I felt that it didn't have a strong beginning or end.
