Very moving stories, but only appropriate for adults and older dc. For example the first story is of the Chernobyl Scientists who worked through the radiation knowing it would kill them. A younger child not only might find it too upsetting, but would probably not have the background knowledge to understand what radiation and a Nuclear plant is.

As an adult I found it nice to read about the better side of humanity.

Ordered the book for my husband not realizing it was written for older children early teens. I read the book while traveling and found it fascinating and moving. True stories most of which we have not heard of. I really enjoyed learning about these brave and selfless individuals. I think older children to adults could enjoy this book.
